PlayStation Classic datamine reveals 36 games that didn’t make it

Such potential...

A PlayStation Classic datamine reveals 36 games that were considered for inclusion but then cut.

Code posted to GitHub shows the differences between the PCSX PlayStation emulator and the custom emulator used for the PlayStation Classic itself. If legitimate, the latter code includes a list of 36 games not present on the mini-console.

Those games are as follows:

  • Chocobo’s Mysterious Dungeon
  • Colin McRae Rally
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Crash 2
  • Toy Story 2
  • Driver
  • Ehrgeiz
  • Fighting Force
  • Gran Turismo
  • GTA 2
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
  • Kagero
  • Klonoa
  • Kula World
  • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
  • Medal of Honor
  • MediEvil
  • Mega Man Legends
  • Mr. Driller G
  • Paca Paca Passion
  • PaRappa the Rapper
  • Parasite Eve
  • RayStorm
  • Ridge Racer
  • Silent Hill
  • Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3
  • Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha
  • Suikoden
  • Tomb Raider
  • Tomb Raider 2
  • Tomba
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
  • Vagrant Story
  • Wild Arms 2
  • Xevious 3D/G+

You can see a list of games actually included on the PlayStation Classic here. It should be noted that from the list above, Parasite Eve is available on the Japanese version of the PlayStation Classic.

Before you get your hopes up, the titles above aren’t hidden in code on the console, so you’re not likely to be playing them via the PlayStation Classic any time soon.

Have you bought a PlayStation Classic? Are you satisfied with your purchase?
