Stevivor’s Best Sports Game of 2023

Forza Motorsport.

It’s that time of year again — we’re kicking off our official Stevivor Game of the Year Awards 2023 with honours for the best sports game of the year.

In a crowd full of microtransaction-laden annual sports games, the refreshed live service title that is Forza Motorsport was a clear favourite with Stevivor staffers. As such, it’s won this category fairly easily.

“If you’re a bonafide car person, I’d imagine it’s here that Motorsport will engage you,” Steve wrote in his review of the title, in which he recounted how an emphasis on realism made for a particularly engaging multiplayer session.

“I played around with views whilst doing so — suddenly appreciating the difference in sounds I was hearing when in the actual driver’s seat or looking at the car in third-person — and quickly noticed what things like fuel and tyres meant whilst churning out laps,” he continued.

Whlie Steve suggested casual fans would obtain less enjoyment from the highly technical simulator, he encouraged those with an Xbox or PC Game Pass subscription to give it a try.

Steve and Ben also discussed Forza Motorsport — alongside other sports titles — in a recent episode of the Friendly Fire Show podcast.

We’ve hardly just begun our Game of the Year 2023 awards program. Comprised of 14 total categories, we’ll be running this show straight through until the end of the year. You can get an idea of what to expect — and catch up on earlier winners — below.

Forza Motorsport is currently available on Windows PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
