We’re at the end of the first week of Stevivor Game of the Year Awards 2023! Today, we’re awarding honours for the best ongoing game of 2023.
While the usual suspects were considered for this category, it’s hard to deny that Nintendo spent a considerable amount of energy bolstering the goodness that is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch.
Jam-packed with new courses, it’s hard not to recommend the racer.
“Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is solid and enjoyable, with small tweaks that mean it easily surpasses the Wii U’s original release,” Steve and Nicholas wrote in their 2017 review (one amended from the title’s 2014 Wii U release).
“Should you get a Switch for it? Yes. Yes you should — especially if you’ve got friends who’re up for a race themselves.”
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also won the Stevivor GOTY Award for Best Racing or Sports Game in 2017.
