Alan Wake 2.
Our Stevivor Game of the Year Awards 2023 program continues in its second week, and we’re getting towards the pointy end! Today, honours for the best narrative of 2023.
Perhaps surprising little, Stevivor staffers gave this award to none other than Alan Wake 2.
“Full of loops and rituals, the story told by Remedy’s Sam Lake is multi-layered; it delves into self-doubt, the artistic process, connections with family and friends, duty to community (and one’s self) and so, so much more,” Steve wrote in his review. “On its own, it’s ridiculously enjoyable; to fans of Remedy’s work, it’s both the holy grail and a fantastic tease of what’s to come. I cannot wait.”
Better yet, Alan Wake 2 added a new game plus mode last week. As we reported back in late October, new game plus was planned all along by Remedy’s Sam Lake offers up an “alternate narrative” that adds “an additional layer to the already layered experience”.
We’re continuing on with our Game of the Year 2023 awards through to the end of this year. You can check out both past and future categories below.
Alan Wake 2 is now available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5.
