Stevivor’s putting the Xbox Series S through its paces, testing its loading times in comparison to bigger brother, the Xbox Series X.
Both consoles sport an 1TB Custom NVME SSD that promises blistering speeds as well as other bonuses including Quick Resume. We’ve already tested a handful of Xbox One backwards compatible games across both Xbox One X and Xbox Series X, but this set of timings will be next-gen only. We’ve tried to use the same build of the game for each set of tests.
On the whole, the timings are almost identical across consoles, though Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice was ridiculously faster on Xbox Series S. Xbox head Phil Spencer said S loading times could be faster than X because of non-4K assets and the like.
