Xbox Series S loading times shorter than Series X for some games: Spencer

Xbox head Phil Spencer has declared that Xbox Series S games will boast shorter loading times than their Xbox Series X counterparts.

The tidbit was divulged as part of an interview with Kotaku. There, Spencer also said that Xbox games on the Nintendo Switch aren’t “sustainable” and that Microsoft still would like a “full Xbox ecosystem somewhere” after an investment in Xbox Live, xCloud and Xbox Game Pass.

We don’t have an Xbox Series S in order to test times, but we’ve certainly put a number of Xbox Series X backwards compatible titles through their places. On average, we found that Xbox One games loaded 60% faster on Xbox Series X as compared to their Xbox One X counterparts.

Spencer didn’t detail the titles which would load faster on Xbox Series S, but the whole interview is a fascinating read.

The Xbox Series S & X head to store shelves on 10 November.
