Detroit’s Quantic Dream allegedly working on Star Wars game

No thanks.

Beleagured Detroit Become Human developer Quantic Dream is rumoured to be working on a new Star Wars title.

The rumour comes from French YouTuber Gautoz, who alleges that the studio was engaged to create the new title by Disney shortly after its three-game contract with Sony had concluded.

Under said contract, Quantic Dream released Beyond Two Souls, Detroit Become Human and Heavy Rain for PlayStation.

Gautoz’s claims have been backed up by leaker Tom Henderson, who has claimed to have heard similar rumblings. Henderson continued to allege that Star Wars title has been in development for around 18 months.

Following its deal with Sony, the studio said it will make multiplatform video games. It also made headlines when it lost a French labour court case, then when it was investigated by Game Workers Unite over claims of sexual harrassment in the workplace.

Quantic Dream took French media outlets Le Monde & Mediapart to court because of their reporting on a toxic workplace; as part of proceedings, Quantic Dream head David Cage is reported to have told employees that his studio didn’t “make games for fags”.
