If, like me, you’re a die-hard Pokemon Go fan but relative newcomer to the Pokemon franchise, you’re probably confused when it comes to in-game battles inside Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. Which Pokemon types can beat which? We’ve got a handy Pokemon type guide below with all the answers.

Below, you’ll find a list of each Pokemon type, detailing what it is weak or strong against. Don’t see a type listed under weak, strong or no effect? Then it’ll deal a normal amount of damage.

Normal type

  • Example Pokemon: Rattata, Meowth, Chansey, Eevee
  • Not effective against: Rock, Steel
  • Super effective against: None
  • No effect against: Ghost

Fire type

  • Example Pokemon: Charmander, Vulpix, Growlithe, Flareon
  • Not effective against: Fire, Water, Rock, Dragon
  • Super effective against: Grass, Ice, Bug

Water type

  • Example Pokemon: Squirtle, Poliwag, Seel, Krabby
  • Not effective against: Water, Grass, Dragon

Electric type

  • Example Pokemon: Pikachu, Jolteon, Voltorb
  • Not effective against: Electric, Grass, Dragon
  • Super effective against: Water, Flying

Grass type

  • Example Pokemon: Tangela, Oddish
  • Not effective against: Fire, Grass, Poison, Flying, Bug, Dragon

Ice type

  • Example Pokemon: Vulpix (Alola form)
