Stevivor’s GOTY 2015: Best shooter

We here at Stevivor just couldn’t make up our minds about 2015’s best shooter.

In the end, a three-way tie was the best we could muster. Congratulations are in order to Bungie’s Destiny “The Taken King”, 343 Industries’ Halo 5: Guardians and Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Siege.

“Characters are now strong, interesting and a joy to interact with,” Shane said of the revitalisation of Destiny thanks to “The Taken King”. “It feels like this has all been there from the beginning, just hidden away. We could kind of make it out if we tried; we could see there was a silhouette of something bigger.”

“Guardians’ multiplayer more than makes up for the game’s underwhelming campaign,” I said of Halo 5. Stuart agreed, adding, “343 has made great strides in their multiplayer game that lock in the title as a quality one, though it’s a shame that the single-player campaign is too safe to really be considered ambitious.”

Siege creates the kind of anxious, pulse pounding action usually reserved for only the best of survival horror,” Leo said of Rainbow Six, cementing it into our three-way tie.

Congrats to our shooters!

Stay tuned for more GOTY tomorrow.
