Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console announced, doesn’t have a price

That's not a great sign.

An original Xbox-inspired Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console was today detailed by Microsoft, though it doesn’t have a price tag as yet.

“Inspired by one of the most iconic Xbox console designs in our 25-year history, it’s now reimagined for Xbox Series X with the full power of a modern console experience,” Microsoft said of the translucent console (and a matching controller).

“Coming November 2026. The Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition packs 25 years of design into every detail. For the first time, see through the back case and battery door, revealing the classic Xbox logo. Original-color ABXY buttons bring the past forward, while the green Xbox button calls back to the moment the first green ‘X’ burst onto the scene.”

“The console and controller will be available together in select markets as a limited edition collection in November, with the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition also available separately,” Microsoft continued. “We’ll have more to share on pricing and preorder availability at select retailers soon.”

At the moment, the 1TB special edition console isn’t appearing on the Australian version of the Microsoft Store, though it is on the USA version — complete with an “Email me when available” button.

A regular ol’ Xbox Series X will set you back $849 AUD, so be prepared to spend (far?) upwards on that for this special edition. We’ll let you know about local pricing and availability when that’s been confirmed.
