Xbox Live core services are down

Account & profile access are unavailable.

Update: Xbox Support has advised that “sign-in is back up and running” as of 1.25 pm AEDT.

Original story: Xbox Live core services are down, Microsoft has confirmed.

Impacted services include accounts and profiles… which basically means everything else too.

“You may not be able to sign-in to your Xbox profile, may be disconnected while signed in, or have other related problems. Features that require sign-in like most games, apps and social activity won’t be available,” Microsoft advised.

The error seemed to pop up at around 7.15 am AEDT today, 26 February. Microsoft’s last update was at 8.19 am AEDT.

While likely a coincidence, People Can Fly’s Outriders demo is available this morning. Regardless of how its availability impacted Xbox Live, it certainly means that Xbox players can’t begin download of the demo until these issues are corrected.

We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
