Xbox Cloud Gaming will bring Xbox Series X games to Xbox One

Can't get a new console? No problem.

Xbox Cloud Gaming will bring Xbox Series X games to the Xbox One, Microsoft recently disclosed.

News of plans to stream current-gen titles to last-gen hardware was tucked inside an Xbox Wire post from earlier in the week.

“For the millions of people who play on Xbox One consoles today, we are looking forward to sharing more about how we will bring many of these next-gen games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, to your console through Xbox Cloud Gaming, just like we do with mobile devices, tablets, and browsers,” Microsoft detailed.

Prior to the Xbox Wire post, Microsoft confirmed it would be bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming to PC, consoles and anything with a web browser, essentially. This next step seems pretty logical.

While the ability to play current-gen games on last-gen devices seems pretty neat, it’s important to remember the functionality is dependent on one’s network connection — an Aussie with NBN will fare far better than someone still on ADSL, as an example.

If you’re struggling to pick up an Xbox Series S & X due to availability or cost, would you be open to playing new games via Xbox Cloud Gaming on your Xbox One?
