Xbox ANZ’s Greenstown online event celebrates Xbox Series S & X launch

Xbox ANZ has further detailed an Xbox Series S & X online launch event that will be based within Queenstown, New Zealand — the first country to get its hands on Microsoft’s next-gen consoles. Update: You can watch a replay of the event below.

Kicking off at 9.00 pm AEDT on 9 November, the livestream will be broadcast over Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Twitch and “will culminate in an official Xbox takeover where Queenstown will be transformed into ‘Greenstown’,” Xbox today declared.

“We’re excited to be celebrating the launch of both the Xbox Series X and S. New Zealand and Australia will be the first in the world to bring our next-generation consoles to our fans,” said Dan Johnson, Xbox Lead for ANZ.

So, we want to celebrate this momentous event in style. I’d like to invite our Aussie and Kiwi fans to join us on an engaging livestream as we transform the adventure capital of the world into ‘Greenstown’ and broadcast it right into the comfort of their homes.”

The event will run for an hour and features like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Destiny 2 Beyond Light. Moreover, the event will include “guest appearances from Xbox Executives and some of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognisable content creators.”

The Xbox Series S & X head to store shelves on 10 November. We’ve reviewed the next-gen consoles here (and previewed the Xbox Series X here as well).
