Xbox Academy is a free online introduction to game development

Microsoft, Xbox Game Studios’ Playground Games (Forza Horizon 4, Fable), Games London and East London Arts and Music (ELAM) have teamed up to offer Xbox Academy, a free, online introduction to games development, to aspiring developers.

“This workshop will focus on the basics of game design providing anyone with the knowledge to get you started,” Microsoft advised. “From understanding the game development process, to learning how to use developer tools like Unity, you will have a chance to learn new skills directly from leading educators and Playground Games.”

Only four sessions will be offered, so if you’re interested (and over 16 years of age), make sure to sign up for one of the sessions now. Links and times in AEST as follows:

  • 7.00 pm AEST, 12 September
  • 11.00 pm AEST, 12 September
  • 7.00 pm AEST, 13 September
  • 11.00 pm AEST, 13 September

Those who register are asked to download Unity 2020, create a new project, download the 3D Game Kit resource file and be ready to test and play when their session begins.
