The Pokemon Company having “conversations” about quality following Scarlet & Violet

About time.

The Pokemon Company is having “more and more conversations” about the quality of Pokemon video games following the dismal launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Speaking with Comicbook, COO Takato Utsunomiya said the conversations are happening whilst acknowledging the fast-paced cadence of Pokemon’s release schedule.

“I think in general, if you look at the past, the path we’ve taken up until now has been this constant release, always regularly releasing products on a fairly fixed kind of a cadence, you might say,” Utsunomiya said.

“That’s how we’ve operated up until now [and] I think we’re still operating in that way, but there’s more and more conversations, as the development environments change, about how we can continue to do this, while making sure that we’re ensuring really quality products are also being introduced,” he continued.

Players were so upset by the performance of Scarlet and Violet on Switch that they demanded refunds; Nintendo ended up apologising for the state of the title at launch.

This all said, players maintained that Scarlet & Violet are still great fun despite performance issues. That includes our very own Ethan and Ben.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is currently available on Nintendo Switch.
