Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 streaming on Netflix from Christmas

Christmas Day in the USA, Boxing Day in Australia.

Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 will stream over on its new home of Netflix on Christmas Day, the service has today announced.

All episodes from the animated series’ first season will be available on that day, or likely on Boxing Day here in Australia. The episodes previously aired over on Paramount+ before being unceremoniously dumped by Paramount.

All up, there are 20 episodes in total. Another 20 will eventually be added to Netflix thanks to Star Trek Prodigy Season 2, though there’s no word as yet on when those new episodes will become available. They’re expected sometime in 2024.

Paramount+ announced that it would be removing Star Trek Prodigy from its service offering back in June of this year. Netflix eventually picked the series up in October.

We highly recommend Prodigy Season 1 to Star Trek fans — and with the SAG-AFTRA actors’ strike finally resolved, there won’t be much new Trek out there to watch for some time. Season 2 has already teased the introduction of the U.S.S. Voyager-A, a LaMar special class science vessel under the command of Admiral Kathryn Janeway.

Star Trek Prodigy Season 1 heads to Netflix on 26 December 2023 here in Australia; Season 2 will follow sometime in 2024.
