You should restart The Division 2 beta every 2-3 hours, says Ubisoft

The Division 2’s private beta kicked off last night and ran into an expected problem — it tends to crash after a while on Xbox One and PC, and while the PS4 version keeps running, it suffers from a degraded performance. To avoid that, Ubisoft recommends closing and restarting the beta every 2-3 hours.

While it’s listed by the publisher as an important issue, it was a known problem before the beta launched and is a high priority to be fixed.

“We are aware of issues causing players’ game client crash on Xbox and PC after an extended gameplay session while PS4 players may experience a performance degradation after 3+ hours of uninterrupted gameplay. To circumvent both issues, we recommend players to restart their game client every two to three hours,” said a Ubisoft blog post.

The game will also crash if you are invited by a friend and try to join from outside the game, such as from the Xbox or PlayStation home screen. To avoid that, launch The Division 2 beta first and then accept game invites.

The Division 2 will release on 15 March 2019, on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
