This is not a drill! Microsoft has released a “Gamescom Gameplay Trailer” for ReCore that includes actual gameplay. That’s been unheard of thus far, with most “gameplay trailers” showing in-game footage; not actual gameplay.
The development team’s Metroid Prime and Mega Man roots are firmly on-show, as protagonist Joule shoots, platforms and puzzle solves her way out of trouble with a little help from her robot buddies.
Some of the footage is what we played at E3, which you can read all about in our hands-on preview.
ReCore will be released exclusively for Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 13 for the low price of $50 — Microsoft told Stevivor the budget price is to entice players to explore a new IP, not because it’s a budget game.
