PS4 exclusive Until Dawn launching this August

Sony announced today that Until Dawn, the PS4 exclusive, survival horror title from Supermassive Games, will launch in August.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Pete Samuels, Executive Producer at Supermassive, revealed that actor Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Arrow) was a cast member on the title. You might remember Stormare for his role as The Replacer in Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s promos.

Samuels said of Stormare, “He gave some incredibly powerful performances in the motion capture studio and you can tell from the end result in the game that he had some fun with the character. We couldn’t be happier to have him in the games and I can’t wait for you to see him in full flow.”

Those who pre-order Until Dawn will gain access to an additional scene. It’s currently available for pre-order on the North American PlayStation Store for $59.99 USD, but at the time of writing is not yet available on the Australian store.

Until Dawn features tells the story of eight friends who spend the night in the woods together on the anniversary of their friend’s death, but in true horror movie fashion are unaware that they might be the next victim. Originally slated for release on PS3, Until Dawn was moved to PS4 in August 2014.

We previewed Until Dawn last year. It will be available exclusively for PS4 on 25 August 2015.
