Backwards compatibility is available now, and Achievements are coming...
Original Xbox games are getting some love from Microsoft, with four titles now on backwards compatibility on PC. Those same titles will have Achievements added in the future, the publisher announced.
We’ve broken the news down for you below.
Four original Xbox games now backwards compatible on PC
Four titles are now backwards compatible on Windows PC, playable through the Xbox app on PCs, laptops, and handheld consoles like the Xbox ROG Ally X.
The titles supported by this program are as follows:
- Blinx The Time Sweeper
- Conker Live and Reloaded
- Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge
- Fuzion Frenzy
“Rolling out today, Xbox Backward Compatibility on PC launches in early release, starting with four classic original Xbox games, now playable on PC and handhelds for the first time ever,” said Microsoft’s Jason Ronald in a blog post.
“This marks the beginning of a broader effort to preserve Xbox games from the past and bring them to PC over time,” Ronald added.
Those who already own the Xbox titles on console will have instant access over on PC, though they’re also included as part of “all Xbox Game Pass plans,” Ronald confirmed.
Original Xbox games get upgrades through PC backwards compatibility
“In addition to making these games available on PC for the first time ever, we’ve added new features to enhance the experience on PC while preserving the original gameplay,” Ronald said.
“Players can customize graphics settings, including up to 4x resolution upscaling, VSync support, Fullscreen and Windowed display modes, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, and more. These games also include customizable language and audio settings.”
Of course, Microsoft did advise of both minimum and recommended PC specs to make the most out of these titles. That info is below.

Original Xbox games to get Achievements on console and PC
While not available today, Ronald added that select original Xbox titles, including the four detailed above, will soon get Achievements support.
“We plan to add even more features to Xbox Backward Compatibility games in the future,” said Ronald.
“I’m excited to share that later this year we will be bringing one of the top fan-requested features to select original Xbox games on both console and PC: Achievements,” he continued. “The first four games releasing in preview today will be updated to include Achievements in the coming months.”
We’ll let you know when (and what) Achievements are added to original Xbox games.
