New PlayStation Plus Australia release date is 23 June

It's been confirmed!

The new PlayStation Plus Australian release date is 23 June 2022, going off a new statement from Sony.

Update [17 June 2022]: We now know that Aussies will gain access to the service at 12.00 pm AEST on 23 June.

“Just a reminder, the new PlayStation Plus service arrives on 23 June at 12pm (midday) AEST,” the publisher said in an email to subscribers.

Update [27 April 2022]: An email from Sony to current subscribers has confirmed Australia will get the new, tiered service from 22 June.

The European region — of which Australia is usually lumped — is targeting the new tiered PlayStation Plus service from that date, weeks behind launches in Asia, Japan and the Americas.

Here’s where players around the world can expect the newly revamped subscription service:

  • Asia markets excluding Japan: 23 May 2022
  • Japan: 1 June 2022
  • Americas: 13 June 2022
  • Europe: 22 June 2022

The news comes at the same time Sony has confirmed that more regions will gain access to PlayStation Now-like cloud streaming at the launch of the new PlayStation Plus Service, meaning those regions will have access to higher tiers of the service. Sadly, Australia was not included in the new rollout.

New regions include Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
