Mortal Kombat 1 Quan Chi trailer also shows Khameleon, Peacemaker

A new Mortal Kombat 1 Quan Chi trailer shows off the fighter’s next character alongside another, Peacemaker, and Kameo fighter Khameleon.

Whilst Peacemaker — a DC character who’s recently had his own HBO Max TV show — makes an appearance, his move set does not. Quan Chi’s obviously does, right down to a brutal fatality seen at the end of the video.

Those with Mortal Kombat 1‘s Premium Edition or its Kombat Pack DLC will gain access to the character in “early access” from 14 December. Anyone who wants to buy the character separately will be able to do so from 21 December. Khameleon will follow next in January 2024.

Peacemaker star John Cena is voicing the character in the fighter, just like Invincible’s J.K. Simmons did for Omni-Man. Sadly, we know that The Boys‘ Anthony Starr won’t be voicing his character of Homelander in-game.

The news comes as NetherRealm’s Ed Boon confirmed at CCXP that we’ll get a lot of support for Mortal Kombat 1, including a bit new story drop as seen in the likes of Mortal Kombat 11.

“Just like we did with MK11, we’re going to release a second part with more story and we have a big surprise after that,” Boon said.

We don’t have a release date for Peacemaker as yet; he’s one of the last characters to be released in Kombat Pack 1. Also in the pack and unreleased as yet are Ermac and Takeda.

Mortal Kombat 1 has been under fire for questionable monetisation practices. Fans voiced concerns over $15 AUD single fatalities; Warner Bros has since responded and offered those who purchased the one-off with two additional fatalaties as part of that transaction.

Mortal Kombat 1 is out now on Windows PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, alongside Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5 and Switch. Our review can be found here.
