Microsoft Band support ends May 2019

Microsoft Band support ends May 2019, Microsoft recently has confirmed.

The Microsoft Band peripheral itself has been discontinued for more than two years, but now Microsoft has detailed when services that support the wearable will be taken offline. The Microsoft Health dashboard and corresponding Microsoft Band apps will be taken offline and pulled from the Microsoft Store, the iOS App Store and Google Play on 31 May. Furthermore, all data uploaded by users will be deleted from the Microsoft Health dashboard at that same time.

Microsoft also confirmed that users with a Band still covered under Limited Warranty or those who’ve synchronised data between 1 December 2018 and 1 March 2019 will be eligible for a refund — $80 USD for a Band 1 and $175 USD for a Band 2, to be exact. Microsoft will email eligible users with more information, the company confirmed.

Those looking to export their health data ahead of the closure of the service can head to an FAQ for more information. After 31 May, the Microsoft Band will still be able to track steps, heart rate, monitor sleep and set alarms.
