Microsoft asking if Xbox players want PS5 DualSense controller functionality

Also asking if the Xbox Series X "feels next-gen".

A new Microsoft survey is asking if Xbox players want PS5 DualSense controller functionality, also asking players if the Xbox Series X “feels next-gen”.

The questions — via TechRadar — are bundled with others that enquire about the console’s quality and desireability.

When it comes to its controllers, Xbox has asked players if they’ve used the Xbox Series S & X’s new dedicated Share button, if they’re satisfied with the new Share button’s functionality and — most importantly — if they’re “aware of features on PlayStatio controllers that [they] wish wer on the controller that came with this console.”

With that final question, Microsoft is likely referring to the PS5 DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, both highlighted with the PS5 pack-in title Astro’s Playroom.

It’s unknown what will come out of the survey at the moment, but if we had to guess, we’d say a new Elite 3 controller will ultimately become available, sporting a dedicated Share button alongside borrowed DualSense functionality. What do you think?

As per Stevivor’s own reporting, we’ve confirmed that the current Elite 2 wireless controller cannot be remapped to sport a Share button of its own.
