Major Halo: The Master Chief Collection update “in its final stages of testing”

343 Industries has confirmed through the Halo Waypoint blog that a major content update for The Master Chief Collection is currently in the final stages of testing and will be available in the near future.

This is touted as the update that will fix the many issues plaguing the collection once and for all, a reworking of the multiplayer component of The Master Chief Collection that will improve stability, matchmaking and the party and invite systems. No release date has been announced yet, but chances are we get a final date in a community update from 343 next week. This was the update originally slated to be opened for beta testing through the Xbox Preview Program, a plan that was cancelled soon after the announcement.

The Master Chief Collection multiplayer component is no longer completely broken, but many players are still having major issues connecting to games in some playlists and finding evenly balanced matches. It is hoped that this major update, over three months after initial release, will once and for all fix the matchmaking issues that have dogged the game.
