It’s a Halo takeover: Internet Explorer is dead in Windows 10, long live Project Spartan

Microsoft is sure betting that PC users like Halo, first integrating Cortana as the OS’ assistant, and then doing away with Internet Explorer to make way for Project Spartan, its new browser.

At their Windows 10 event, Windows 10’s new internet browser, codenamed Project Spartan was tipped to replace Internet Explorer. The new OS won’t be available in Windows 10 preview builds, but when released with the OS proper, will be Firefox- and Chrome-like, handing tabs in the title bar, an address bar across tabs and will offer support for extensions.

The browser will also support Cortana (of course) as well the ability to sync across phones and PCs. Finally, the browser will sport a Reading List that saves articles for offline reading later on.

Will you be sad to see Internet Explorer go the way of the dodo?
