Halo Infinite campaign co-op won’t have online matchmaking

Use Discord, says Microsoft.

Halo Infinite campaign co-op will not offer players with online matchmaking, Microsoft has recently confirmed.

The publisher told GamesRadar that players will have to use other avenues if they’re looking for campaign partners outside their usual circles.

“Online matchmaking will not be available with final co-op,” a Microsoft rep told the site. “We encourage you to continue to use the Halo LFG and the new Discord voice call feature on Xbox to find players to party up with as you continue playing the beta.”

A trial of the campaign co-op went live recently; a proper release date hasn’t been set for the feature.

This announcement is arguably another blow to the beleagured title, which hasn’t had a proper new content drop in some time. Combine that with missing features like campaign co-op and forge, and add to that issues with online multiplayer collision, and Infinite needs Master Chief to drop in and savage the whole affair.

Halo Infinite is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X; it’s also part of Xbox and PC Game Pass.
