Halo Infinite four-player co-op beta on now

Halo Insiders get the feature first.

Update: The Halo Infinite four-player co-op beta was a little later than scheduled, but one thing’s for certain: it’s on now.

Anyone can access the beta on Xbox consoles, provided they’ve got access to an Xbox Game Pass subscription or have purchased the Halo Infinite campaign.

If you meet those requirements, you’ll need to then access the beta via the Xbox Insider app.

Once inside the app, follow the prompts to access and install the beta. Simple!

The co-op beta will run until 1 August here in Australia.

Original story: Halo Infinite four-player co-op beta will kick off 12 July here in Australia, 343 Industries has confirmed.

The feature will be made available to Halo Insiders first as part of a planned beta flight that runs until 23 July in the country.

Up to four players can create separate saves as part of the feature, with collectibles, equipment, upgrades, Achievements and progress counting toward each players’ save.

“The way we are handling this is through something we internally refer to as ‘No Spartan Left Behind’,” said 343’s Isaac Bender. “When players join the Fireteam and choose their save slots to play on, the game aggregates the states of all missions across those saves and sets up a world state in which any missions completed by all Fireteam members are marked as complete while any missions not completed by all are marked as incomplete.”

Players can be in separate places on the world map, but there is a maximum distance tolerable before players will be warned and then killed.

Mission replays will also become available through a new feature accessible in the Tac-Map. 343 Industries added that new Achievements focused on campaign replays and co-op will be added to the game.

Halo Infinite is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series S & X.
