GLAAD Outstanding Video Game nominations released

Five games are in the running to be named Outstanding Video Game at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards.

The awards themselves celebrate positive portrayals of LGBTIQ characters and stories within popular media, including video games. Games themselves have a specific category, with nominees for the 30th annual awards show as follows:

  • Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset
  • Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire
  • Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
  • The Sims Mobile

Interesting list, eh?

Of late, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey was criticised for heavily tarnishing portrayals of gay and lesbian characters thanks to new DLC, though Ubisoft has now pledged to change the content to bring it back to good graces.

The 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards will take place on 28 March at Los Angeles’ Beverley Hilton.
