Gears 5 Tech Test download available now

The Gears 5 Tech Test is now available for download across PC and Xbox One ahead of its official start here in Australia on 20 July.

The test includes three modes — Arcade, Escalation, and King of the Hill — alongside two multiplayer maps: District and Training Grounds. It also includes the new Bootcamp mode, which serves as a bit of a tutorial.

You can grab the Gears 5 Tech Test here. You can hit the ellipsis button next to Install (““) to pick a different PC or Xbox One to also install to.

Gears 5 Tech Test timings

The Tech Test starts at 3.00 am AEST on 20 July and runs until 22 July.

A second test runs from 3.00 am AEST on 27 July through until 30 July.

Gears 5 Tech Test requirements

You’ll need to hold a current Xbox Game Pass subscription or have pre-ordered Gears 5 to take part in the Tech Test. Furthermore, PC specs are below:

  • GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280 or RX 560
  • VRAM: 2GB
  • RAM: 6GB

  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 760 or GTX 1050
  • VRAM: 2GB

Gears 5 heads to Windows PC and Xbox One as part of the Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere programs on 10 September.
