Epic, Xbox donate two weeks of Fortnite proceeds to support Ukraine

Time to get some V-Bucks?

Epic Games and Xbox will donate two weeks worth of Fortnite proceeds to support humanitarian relief in Ukraine, the pair have announced.

Both companies will be donating all proceeds earned in-game between 20 March and 3 April.

“This includes V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes, and cosmetic packs such as the Voidlander Pack sold for real money,” an FAQ explaining the donations reads. “Retail store purchases of in-game cosmetics and V-Bucks cards will also be included if they are redeemed in-game during this window.”

100% of Epic’s Fortnite proceeds and Microsoft’s net proceeds will form the final donation amount.

“We’re not waiting for the actual funds to come in from our platform and payment partners, which can take a while depending on how the transaction was processed,” an FAQ explaining the donations reads. “As transactions are reported, we’ll log them and send the funds to the humanitarian relief organizations within days.”

Organisations that will benefit from the donations include the likes of Direct Relief, UNICEF, the United Nations World Food Programme and UNHCR – the United Nations Refugee Agency.

Fortnite is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch.
