PlayStation Australia will pay you to watch an android walk a dog

PlayStation Australia will pay you to watch an android walking a dog, according to a new posting on AirTasker.

The posting is connected to the upcoming title Detroit: Become Human, out later this month.

“Are you always the first to buy the latest gadgets and the newest tech to make your busy life easier? Do you know who Isaac Asimov or Arthur C. Clarke are? Are you interested in artificial intelligence and the future that androids have in our society,” the post asks.

“If this sounds like you, then this opportunity to be part of a social experiment involving a CyberLife Android, might just suit your circuitry.”

Potential tasks that the lucky applicant will have to undertake include:

  • Teaching our android to perform basic tasks correctly.
  • Minding our android whilst they integrate with society.
  • Troubleshooting android responses to simple instructions.
  • Recording the reactions of members of the public on meeting our android.

Other tasks include teaching the android how to take a dog for a walk, though you have to provide the dog.

You can apply to become Sony’s AirTasker here — you’ll need to be available on 21 May and be aged 18 or above. It looks like the lucky applicant will also walk away with a cool $500 AUD.

Detroit: Become Human is a PS4 exclusive available from 25 May.
