Destiny 2 now in maintenance mode as Bungie offers final Gloriabundus emblem

Bye, old friend.

Destiny 2 has rolled out its final hotfix, patching issues that have arisen from its last major update and following news that hundreds of Bungie employees had been laid off. As a farewell, Bungie has also provided players access to a final new emblem called Gloriabundus.

First, players can use code F6K-D44-JH4 over on Bungie.net to redeem the Gloriabundus emblem, which celebrates Destiny and its Last City.

The news comes as patch notes for Destiny 2 update 9.7.0.3 have been released; chief among the changes are increased reputation gains for Vanguard and Crucible Ops activity completions.

You can read full patch notes here.

This is likely the looter shooter’s final update, though community manager Dylan ‘dmg04’ Gafner said that “there may be moments where we break glass for highest priority issues (game crashes).” He added, “there will indeed still be downtimes for general server maintenance/upkeep. If we have the opportunity, a small fix could sneak in here or there.”

Destiny 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5.
