The Dark Pictures House of Ashes officially confirmed by Supermassive

The Dark Pictures House of Ashes was officially confirmed by Supermassive today, following on from a tease at the end of the recently released Little Hope.

“Iraq, 2003. As the conflict draws to a close, CIA field operative Rachel King joins an elite military unit on a raid of a suspected underground chemical weapons facility in the shadow of the Zagros Mountains,” Supermassive wrote of House of Ashes, setting its scene.

“Arriving at the coordinates, the unit is ambushed by a local patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman. During the battle, an earthquake opens sinkholes in the ground, pitching both sides into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. In the darkness beneath the Arabian Desert, something evil is awakened. Savage and unstoppable, a nest of ancient and unearthly creatures has a new prey to hunt.”

You can check out a taste of House of Ashes below. It’s planned for a 2021 release on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5.

The Dark Pictures Little Hope is now available on most of those same platforms; we reviewed it here.
