Bethesda has opened a new developer called Roundhouse Studios

Bethesda has opened a new developer, Roundhouse Studios, and already has it working on unannounced projects.

It’s actually more of a rebirth, as Roundhouse is staffed by the team from the very recently closed Human Head Studios — so recently that it seems Human Head only closed a day before Roundhouse was announced.

Human Head Studios released Rune 2 just two days ago, and its closure and relaunch with Bethesda came as a shock to Rune 2 publisher Ragnarok, which expected Human Head to provide post-launch support for a game that came out on 12 November 2019. That’s not going to happen now.

“We reached out to our friends at Bethesda for help [after Human Head shut this week], and they saw that same creativity and passion in our team,” said Chris Rhinehart, Creative Director, Roundhouse Studios.

“With the formation of Roundhouse Studios, Bethesda offered every employee of Human Head a position at the new company.”

The team is best known for the original Prey and Rune, and assisted with Bioshock Infinite and Bethesda’s Brink.

Bethesda has been on a growth spurt recently, having also acquired Alpha Dog Games just last month.
