Battlefield 5 War Stories single-player teased ahead of full reveal

Battlefield 5 War Stories single-player will continue the storytelling structure established in Battlefield 1, EA and DICE today confirmed in a new blog post.

Almost at the same time Treyarch confirmed Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 would not have a single-player campaign, DICE advised of War Stories’ return.

“DICE believes in both all-out multiplayer and single player, and the live reveal will have more info on the returning fan-favorite War Stories,” the developer confirmed. “Prepare for untold, compelling narratives in a new setting.”

While the developer didn’t confirmed that Battlefield 5 will take place in WWII, as widely believed, it did at least confirm that the game won’t be taking place in WWI.

Battlefield 1 gave players the definitive World War 1 experience that brought the dawn of all-out war to life,” the post continues. “But the next Battlefield happens on another frontline. The live reveal will give players the first look at DICE’s immersive portrayal of the new setting.”

Finally, DICE all but confirmed that Battlefield 1‘s Operations will return in Battlefield 5.

“A player-favorite from Battlefield 1, Operations have given you the chance to take epic journeys across several maps,” the post reads. “Will this teamplay-focused experience be in the next Battlefield? You’ll know if you watch the live reveal!”

The live reveal is scheduled to take place on 23 May (24 May here in Australia). Stevivor will be on hand and reporting live as details are confirmed.
