Spider-Man suits guide: All costumes and how to unlock them

Spider-Man is out now on PS4, and we’ve a handy set of guides for you to smash the game with. This guide is all about the various suits at Spider-Man’s disposal.

While some suits like Spider-Punk were offered as pre-order bonuses, all suits can be earned in-game through a little bit of legwork.

There are 28 suits in total to collect (at the time of writing), and they’re all detailed on the next page. Why’s that? Because spoilers continue on below this paragraph in the form of those suit descriptions, bonuses and appearances. Read at your own peril!

Still with us? Great! Unlocking a suit also unlocks its Suit Power, and you can use each Suit Power with any suit.

Suits require two things before you can buy them — your Spider-Man needs to be at an appropriate level, and you’ll also need to buy the suit using in-game Tokens. Here are the Token types and how to earn them:

  • Backpack Tokens: Obtained by collecting Backpack collectibles (marked on the map). A special suit is unlocked by finding all Backpacks.
  • Base Tokens: Obtained through liberating bases (marked on the map; released in waves and trackable when hovering over each Manhattan borough).
  • Challenge Tokens: Obtained by succeeding in Challenges (marked on the map); you’ll receive Tokens as a reward for hitting 1 of 3 tiers.
  • Crime Tokens: Obtained by thwarting crimes that are temporarily marked on the map as you move through a borough.
  • Landmark Tokens: Obtained by photographing landmarks marked on the map.
  • Research Tokens: Obtained through completing search at the lab, Research Stations and their side missions (marked on the map), and finding pigeons (marked on the map).

Don’t see something marked on the map yet? Keep playing — it’ll pop up eventually.

Got all that? Excellent — here’s each suit, and what’s involved to unlock it.
