The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is now available on PS5, a $15 AUD upgrade for those who own the game on PS4. This guide will show you how to transfer your save from PS4 to PS5 and potentially nab another easy Sony Platinum Trophy.
To transfer your save, you’ll basically need your PS4 save to be on your local PS5 console, so that means having a PlayStation Plus subscription may be a requirement so you can access cloud storage to obtain it.
First, you’ll need to figure out where your Last of Us Part 2 PS4 save is. If it’s already local to your PS5, great! If not, you’ll need to use PlayStation Plus cloud storage. Here’s what you need to do in either case.

How to transfer your Last of Us Part 2 save from an actual PS4 to your PS5
- On your PS4, go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage
- Select Upload to Online Storage and upload your save file to the PlayStation Plus cloud

- On your PS5, head to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS4) > Cloud Storage
- Select Download to Console Storage
- Fine The Last of Us Part 2 in your list, then select Download

How to access your PS4 save inside The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered
- Pay for and download The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, then open the game when it’s ready
- In the menus, select Story > Import Game
- Select the game save you wish to import and confirm prompts
Voila, you’re done! Your save will be accessible and all earned Trophies will pop.
