The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening Switch release date detailed

The Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will launch on 20 September 2019, Nintendo revealed during its E3 2019 Direct.

Link’s Awakening was originally a Game Boy title released in 1993, and given a second life on Game Boy Color in 1998.

During the Direct, Nintendo also revealed a new dungeon building mode, which allows you to create your own dungeons. It’s The Legend of Zelda with a dash of Super Mario Maker.

“Link has washed ashore on a mysterious island with strange and colourful inhabitants. To escape the island, Link must collect magical instruments and awaken the Wind Fish,” Nintendo said of the title. “Players explore a reimagined Koholint Island that’s been faithfully rebuilt in a new art style. Battle enemies, conquer numerous dungeons and uncover the hidden secrets of the island while encountering Super Mario enemies like Goombas, Chain Chomps and Piranha Plants.

“Players can also earn Chambers (Dungeon Rooms) and arrange them to complete objectives in the new Chamber Dungeon. Launching alongside the game will be a new Link amiibo figure that lets players hold this adorable new art style in the palm of their hands.”

Expect Zelda: Link’s Awakening from 20 September on Nintendo Switch.
