YouTubers posting any content from No Man’s Sky are being hit by copyright claims

YouTubers who are posting any content from No Man’s Sky — including that from approved pre-release, early copies of the game and from preview access — are being hit by copyright claims.

Hello Games’ Sean Murray is aware of the issue and has advised he’s working on it.

It’s of consolation to streamer Steven K. Thomas, who operates No Man’s Sky Gamer. A copyright claim on that channel means he may not be able to go ahead with a launch day livestream, planned to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Thomas is adamant he’s using officially approved preview footage and not pre-launch livestream video.

“I don’t understand why Sony PlayStation would do this to my channel of all channels when I go on Twitch and get people messaging me on Twitter and see all these other people with illegal copies of the game and uploading footage and getting thousands and thousands of subscribers and tens of thousands of views and nothing is being done about them,” Thomas said.

Videos by Rooster Teeth’s The Know have already been restored.
