You can’t purchase Xbox 360 DLC on Xbox One, but it is backwards compatible

Now that Microsoft has revealed that Xbox 360 backwards compatibility will be rolled out to Xbox One from 12 November, there has been some more information released regarding how DLC will work for those Xbox 360 titles played on Xbox One.

In an email sent to GameInformer from Microsoft, it was revealed that to purchase new Xbox 360 DLC, users will need to do so on either their Xbox 360 console or Xbox.com and then download it on their Xbox One. “Backward Compatibility does not emulate the Xbox 360 store and new Xbox 360 games can be purchased on your Xbox 360 or via Xbox.com,” read the email.

Those who have already purchased DLC for Xbox 360 titles will be able to download it directly on their Xbox One by going to the title in My Games & Apps, select Manage Game and then select the DLC to be installed.

Xbox One’s backwards compatibility will go live from 12 November.
