Xbox Design Lab is back… but still not in Australia

Yay?

Xbox Design Lab is back and offers gamers the chance to design their own unique Xbox Series controller… but once again, the store hasn’t made its way to Australia.

The service is once again up and running in “US, Canada and most Western European Countries,” with a custom controller starting at $69.99 USD (engraving costs an extra $9.99 USD).

“Our new Xbox Wireless Controllers are now available in Xbox Design Lab. Players will receive all the benefits that come with the newest generation of Xbox Wireless Controllers, including improved ergonomics for a wider range of hand sizes, better cross-device connectivity, easier sharing, and reduced latency,” Microsoft said.

“Players can choose from 18 different available colors for most controller parts and we are introducing new colors like Shock Blue, Pulse Red, and Electric Volt. Most of our color options are made with plastics containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials by weight.”

We’ve asked Microsoft for comment on the lack of Australian availability. Again. The last time we reported on this (with much chagrin) was back in 2017.

Are you sad to see that we don’t get access to this unique storefront? If you’re in a supported region, you can access Xbox Design Lab here.

Update: Microsoft has responded to Stevivor’s request for comment.

“We’re always looking for ways to offer our fans more value and choice and look forward to expanding Xbox Design Lab to more countries in the future, but have nothing further to share at this time,” a representative has told us today.
