Xbox controller double tap switch feature coming in update

Yes please.

A new Xbox controller feature that lets a user double tap its sync button to switch between paired devices will be introduced in an upcoming update, Microsoft has advised.

The feature is already available on Xbox Series S & X controllers but will head to Xbox One controllers with Bluetooth, the Adaptive Controller and the Elite Series 2 controller soon.

As we’ve previously detailed, the functionality will let a player with any of the controllers listed above switch between their Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PC, iOS and Android with a simple double tap. In order to work, of course, the controller must first be paired with the devices you wish to swap between.

The functionality has also been showcased in a new video, below.

It’s unclear when the update will be pushed to everyone, but we’ll keep you posted. Those in the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead Xbox Insider rings should already have access to the feature.
