EA has released a FIFA 17 Gamescom trailer featuring in-game footage of the football sim running on the Frostbite Engine.
After running on the Ignite Engine since FIFA 14 at the inception of this generation, EA Sports has switched to DICE’s Frostbite, which powers Battlefield 1, Star Wars: Battlefront, Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst and Mass Effect: Andromeda.

The change has allowed EA Sports to create more realistic player models with enhanced facial features and emotions. That led to the inclusion of the story-based The Journey Mode, which takes FIFA beyond what happens on the pitch.
