The Witcher Season 5 will be the Netflix TV show’s last

And we've barely seen how Liam Hemsworth will go as Geralt.

The Witcher Season 5 will be the final season of the Netflix TV show, the streaming service has today confirmed. The news comes as production on Season 4 — the first to star Aussie Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia — gets underway.

Seasons 4 and 5 will be shot back-to-back, covering The Witcher creator Andrzej Sapkowski’s three remaining books: Baptism of FireThe Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.

“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” said showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion,” she continued. “It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”

Hemsworth took over from previous Geralt actor Henry Cavill, who portrayed the protagonist in The Witcher‘s first three seasons. Also new to the show’s cast is The Matrix‘s Lawrence Fishburne, who joins Hemsworth for Season 4.

The Witcher Seasons 1-3 are currently available for streaming on Netflix. We’ll keep you informed as to when you can expect Seasons 4 and 5.
