The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake heads to Switch 2 this year

Surprise?

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was announced for the Switch 2 overnight, and heads to the platform later this year.

Despite a release date relatively close at hand, Nintendo was pretty sparse when it came to details (or proper looks at the remake).

“The Nintendo 64 classic returns for a new generation in 2026, reborn exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2,” Nintendo said in a press release.

The original Ocarina of Time was first released back in 1998, followed up by Ocarina of Time 3D on 3DS in 2011. The original title has since been made available on Wii Virtual Console and through Nintendo Switch Online.

We’ll have more on The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time as it becomes available.
