Texas Chain Saw Massacre gets free map, two paid characters in late November

Check it out.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will add one free map and two paid characters later this month, Sumo Digital and Gun Interactive have today revealed.

The paid characters come in the form of one victim, Danny, and killer Nancy. Nancy’s also the inspiration for a free map which will debut at the same time: 28 November.

“Nancy is the newest addition to the notorious Slaughter Family,” Sumo said of the character. “While much isn’t known about her, her past three husbands have all died mysterious deaths or vanished completely. Through incredibly awful circumstances, Nancy is also a makeshift mother to Johnny Slaughter, showcasing how monsters have their own makers.”

Sumo also promised that “players will also be able to learn more about Nancy as they play through the newest map, Nancy’s House”. The map can be viewed in the video embedded below.

“Danny is the newest victim to join the roster,” Sumo continued. “He may seem rough around the edges but he is an incredibly intelligent and caring person. Danny and Maria have a deep connection and he embarks on his own journey to find her. Heading off to Newt, Texas, players will be able to experience a character that could be crucial to his and his friends’ survival.”

The characters will be $10 USD each and come with their own unique ability and set of perks. Sumo has previously received criticism for its pricing; more on that can be found here.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5; it’s also available through Xbox and PC Game Pass. We reviewed it here.
