Sunset Overdrive details revealed through in-game energy drink’s website

Insomniac Games upcoming Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive has had details of its gameworld, and in-game energy drink and cast revealed on a teaser site. The site is for OverCharge Delirium XT, an energy drink that exists within the Sunset Overdrive universe.

According to the website, “Fizzco was founded in 2007 by Rupert F. Kane, the visionary behind several revolutionary products such as Easy-Peasy shelf meats and MuffinTopps cereal.” The site goes on to state that Fizzco’s best selling product is UNTZ “with over 20-billion cans consumed a day.” OverCharge Delirium XT is Fizzco’s next big push to “revolutionise the liquid industry” as it’s infused with “xtremophiles”, whatever they are.

The site also lists attractions and business located within Sunset City and includes such wonders as SexBurger — “where every meal comes with a free side of sex appeal” — the Agua Mofeta Brewery, Spanish for skunk water, The Content Channel and Wondertown Land, enjoy “fairly-rigged carnival games.”

Six members of Sunset Overdrive’s cast appear on the site as guests at the OverCharge Delirium XT launch party. Fizzco Executive Chet Fisher, host of Buck National vs The Animal Kingdom Buck National, last living blacksmith Wendy Tarth, Sunset City Mayor Arnold Renner, Troop Master Bryllcream and resident hobo Red Caboose Reggie.

Fizzie, Fizzco’s mascot, is inviting fans to try OverCharge Delirium XT at E3 from 9 June, San Diego Comic-con from 24 July, Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from 13 August and PAX Prime in Seattle from 30 August. Whether fans will be sampling the 87g sugar and 800mg caffeine infused drink or playing the game remains to be seen, though we’re willing to bet it’s the latter.

Sunset Overdrive will be available exclusively for Xbox One later this year.
