Suicide Squad delayed on Epic Games Store, Joker coming end of March

Who gets the last laugh?

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League has been delayed on Windows PC via Epic Games Store, now expected on 26 March. The addition of The Joker and Season 1 will follow on all available platforms from 28 March.

“The Epic Games Store version of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will now release on March 26, 2024,” Rocksteady announced on the game’s Twitter account. “To our Epic Games Store PC community, thank you for your patience.”

No further reason for the delay was given.

Season 1 will not only bring an Elseworlds, twinked-up Joker to the mix, but a new playable environment, new activities, new weapons and gear, and more. The Joker was detailed back in January of this year.

This news on Suicide Squad comes after Warner Bros has said the game underperformed and hasn’t met expectations, and that Warner Bros as a result will steer away from large-scale multiplatform releases.

“We’re doubling down on games as an area where we think there is a lot more growth opportunity that we can tap into with the IP that we have and some of the capabilities we have on the studio where we’re uniquely positioned as both a publisher and a developer of games,” said gaming head J.B. Perrette (via Gamespot).

“Rather than just launching a one-and-done console game, how do we develop a game around, for example, a Hogwarts Legacy or Harry Potter, that is a live-service where people can live and work and build and play in that world in an ongoing basis,” Perrette continued.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is already available on Windows PC (though not on Epic Games Store), alongside Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
