(A) Joker is confirmed for Suicide Squad game’s first season

Elseworlds shenanigans.

A Joker — not THE Joker — has been confirmed as a playable character inside Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Season 1.

As developer Rocksteady explained, this Joker is from DC’s Elseworlds — think the multiverse — and not Batman Arkham‘s Joker as he’s, you know, dead.

As previously rumoured, this version of the Joker will be released as free content as part of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Season 1, alongside new boss fights and enemy variants, a new Joker-themed playable environment, new Riddler content, new activities and strongholds, new DC villain-themed weapons and gear, and 2 new episodes featuring Two-Face and the Scarecrow.

You can get a sense of what to expect in the video above. Like most other members of the team, Joker is dynamic and fast and works better when he’s constantly moving, Rocksteady said.

“For future Seasons 2-4, fans can look forward to three new playable characters, three new playable environments, new weapons, themed gear sets, activities, mid-season updates, and more,” Warner Bros advised.

Rocksteady hasn’t announced which additional characters will be added to its playable roster, so while we wait: which DC villain — Suicide Squad member or otherwise — would you like to see as a playable character, and why? Sound off in the comments area, below.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is planned for a 2 February release on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
